Guidance

As the school counselor I do love working with students!    I enjoy communicating with parents.  Please call or email me with any questions or concerns you may have.
Students with internet might enjoy Virginia Career View.  Go to K-5 and click on Career Town.  Students of all ages can play these games and learn about jobs and job skills.  It is fun!
Parents, please look at the link 49 Phrases to Calm Anxious Children Go Zen! by Renee Jain.  It has some wonderful phrases to say to children to help them learn to self calm.  I think you will find these helpful and encouraging to use with students.
Shubert's Home/Conscious Discipline is a great link to still explore.  It gives parents wonderful ideas to use at home with their children and ways to help the family environment run smoothly.  These ideas come from Becky Bailey who created Conscious Discipline.

I sure do miss seeing all the wonderful students at H.E.S.!
My email address is: mknight@bedford.k12.va.us.  You may call me at 540-297-5144, Ext. 17357.
