NEW DATES FOR THE START OF SCHOOL
Changes to the 2020-21 School Year and Start Dates

The 2020-21 school calendar has been changed to reflect decisions made on 8/13/20.

New start dates:

Bedford Connects begin Tuesday, September 8

Elementary Schools & Bedford Primary begin Tuesday, September 8

Middle Schools begin Wednesday, September 9

High Schools begin Thursday, September 10

FACE COVERING REQUIREMENT

The previous guidance included in the BCPS 2020-21 Health & Safety Plan on face coverings was updated to “require face coverings on the bus and indoors in public spaces when social distancing is not possible and at teacher discretion in classrooms.” Please note that this update does not override state guidance that states, “Staff and students should use cloth face coverings when physical distancing cannot be maintained, as is medically and developmentally appropriate”.

MATERIALS PICK UP UPDATE
In light of the decision by the school board last night to delay the opening of schools until after Labor Day we have changed the date for pick up of materials for K-5 students and Chromebook pick up for 3-5 students. The new date is August 25th from 1:00-6:00. The process is the same as referenced below to come to the front entrance of the school.

In preparation for the start of the 2020-21 school year, our Bedford Connects students will need to pick up their materials and Chromebooks. Elementary schools will hand out materials for students in Kindergarten - 2nd grade as well as materials and a Chromebook to students in 3rd - 5th grade on August 18th from 1:00 - 6:00. Please drive up to the main entrance of the building. We will come out and have you sign out the Chromebook (if you are grades 3-5) and deliver your items to you.

RETURN TO SCHOOL
We will be providing additional updates as that information becomes available through direct communication to families, our BCPS websiteYouTube channel, social media (FacebookInstagram, & Twitter), as well as our Facebook video broadcasts.
