NEW GUIDELINES Guidance Regarding Face Coverings - Beginning 11/18/20

BREAKFAST/LUNCH FOR STUDENTS IN BEDFORD CONNECTS We are pleased to announce that we will be offering breakfast and lunch to the HES PK-5 students of Bedford Connects. Meals will have to be picked up from 12:45-1:00 around back at the door to the kitchen. Please call or email the cafeteria manager, Keri Worrell, at 540-583-5369 or hudcafe@bedford.k12.va.us by 9:00 am each day to place your order. The food choices for the day will be the two choices published on the menu. As a reminder, breakfast and lunch are free to all HES families this year. Please call the school with any questions.

We are pleased to inform families that Huddleston Elementary School will be participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast program called the Community Eligibility Provision for the 2020-2021 school year. This is great news for our families! All enrolled students of HES are eligible to receive breakfast and lunch AT NO CHARGE for each school day of the upcoming year! No further action is required and you do not have to fill out the free and reduced lunch application because all families who are enrolled qualify. A letter will be coming home with further details. Please call the school with any questions.

FACE COVERING REQUIREMENT The previous guidance included in the BCPS 2020-21 Health & Safety Plan on face coverings was updated to “require face coverings on the bus and indoors in public spaces when social distancing is not possible and at teacher discretion in classrooms.” Please note that this update does not override state guidance that states, “Staff and students should use cloth face coverings when physical distancing cannot be maintained, as is medically and developmentally appropriate”.
